I can’t believe we’ve been in Long Beach for more than half a year already. We’ve spent some quality time with our west coast fam and friends and eaten some ding dong good food these past 6 months, but I really want to take advantage of southern California while we live here. So here is a list of the things I want to do and see in SoCal before July 1:

1. Camp at Joshua Tree (done and done)
2. See the poppy fields in bloom in Antelope Valley(see them here)
3. Look at the ocean every day we are in Long Beach
4. Listen to our favorite bands play (so far we've seen the New Pornographers, Beach House, Vampire Weekend, Sufjan Stevens, the Low Anthem, and Iron and Wine)
5. Check out the mission in San Juan Capistrano (staycation part II)
6. Get scared silly at Magic Mountain
7. Spend the day on Catalina Island
8. Eat at the original Roscoe’s chicken and waffles, and maybe bump into Snoop
9. Find a good Mexican restaurant (shouldn’t be too hard in socal, but why haven’t we yet??)
10. Go wine tasting in Santa Barbara
11. Eat æbelskiver in Solvang
12. Hike to the Hollywood sign in Griffith Park (almost done, not quite)
13. Then get our astronomy on at the observatory (and have the patience to wait in line)
